2020 is almost at an end and it has certainly been a long and challenging one for all of us as we adapted to the new normal. As we are still under health guidelines, this means no New Year’s Day parties so our celebrations will have to be different this year. With a little creativity however, we can still make this New Year’s a memorable and fun one.
Have a New Year’s Day theme – Create a New Year’s Day theme that will set the tone for the new year to come. This is not only fun but will help to reinforce any of the goals and resolutions you would have set for yourself. This theme can match any small parties or gatherings that you may choose to have on the day itself with your loved ones.
Make New Year’s Brunch – Sleeping in late on New Year’s? Then brunch is a great way to start your day! Pancakes, fruit, bacon, eggs, you name it! Not only is the preparation of brunch a fun one, but it gives you time to connect with your loved ones and is definitely high on our list of fun ways to celebrate New Year’s Day.
Make a scrapbook – 2020 was a year to remember and many of us are looking forward to it being over. In spite of this, we should still preserve the memories that we made in 2020 so that we can look back on them, and one of the best ways to do that is with a scrapbook.
Not only is this something that you can do with your family, but it is also a great way to remember all that happened, the good and the bad and to look towards the future.
Write down your resolutions – One of the best ways to accomplish your New Year’s resolutions is by writing them down. Physically writing helps to reinforce the seriousness of the resolutions and your desire to accomplish them and also acts as a reminder to you should you falter.
Make a memory jar – As 2020 is now over, you can create a memory jar for 2021. Every time something worthwhile, exciting or memorable happens in 2021, write it down on a piece of paper and place it in the jar. At the end of 2021 you can open the jar and re-read everything that happened in 2021 and take a walk down memory lane.
Make separate memory jars for all of your family members so everyone can take part in the fun.
New Year’s celebrations need not be complicated to be enjoyable and these 5 ways to celebrate New Year’s Day are all simple, cost effective and easy to follow.
