Guardian Group – Guardian Life Limited and Guardian General Insurance Jamaica Limited – has made beautifying Police buildings a top priority for its Labour Day project, investing over $3M in the refurbishing exercise to ensure the men and women who are charged with the duty to ‘Serve, Protect and Reassure’ operate within a comfortable environment.
According to Meghon Miller-Brown, VP – Finance, Guardian Life Limited: “Guardian Group shares a close relationship with the Police and as a company we understand the great responsibility these men and women have on a daily basis; we have worked with the Police before and we understand the needs they have and we thought it fitting to again lend our support to them this year to help with refurbishing their Training School and several other Police Stations across the island.”
Guardian Life Limited (GLL) in partnership with the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) has officially launched their inaugural Guardian Group/UHWI 5K Night Run themed ‘Keep it Alive’. In addition to raising funds for the UHWI and Victoria Jubilee Hospital, this initiative will also benefit numerous charities in several communities across the island in collaboration with Kiwanis, Rotary, Lions and Optimist clubs.
The ‘Keep It Alive’ 5K Night Run, which is the first of its kind being held in New Kingston, will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 commencing at 7:00 p.m. The event is expected to attract thousands of participants – corporate groups, individual and group sports enthusiasts and persons who want to support the cause. In addition, there will be an exciting ‘After Race Lyme’ at the Guardian Life parking lot located at 2-4 Musgrave Avenue featuring guest artistes: Sizzla Kalonji, Christopher Martin, Half Pint, Tanto Metro and Devonte, Omari, Diana Rutherford and Jermaine Blake.
