Guardian Life Limited Pledges J$10 Million to Project STAR to help Transform Jamaican Communities
Guardian Life Limited is making a substantial donation of J$10 million to Project STAR, a landmark initiative aimed at driving social and economic change in underserved communities across Jamaica. This collaboration between Guardian Life and Project STAR represents a significant commitment to fostering growth, resilience, and opportunities for those most in need.
Expressing the company’s enthusiasm for the partnership, vice president of Guardian Life Limited, Constance Hoo, says it’s a pleasure for Guardian Life to be on board with Project STAR to develop communities within Jamaica for social and economic gains. “What we're most pleased about is that the project involves participants from within the communities, and by developing their social and economic skills, it not only leads to the development of communities, but also benefits Jamaica as a whole. We fully endorse it and will be here till the end," notes Ms. Hoo.

Project STAR (Social Transformation and Renewal) is an initiative of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ), in partnership with the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), designed to bring about societal transformation through targeted interventions in under-resourced areas. The project consults and collaborates with community stakeholders to identify specific needs and works with various partners—including public and private sectors, Non-Government Organisations (NGOs), and individuals from the diaspora—to connect these communities with the necessary resources and services.
