The objective of this programme is to afford candidates the opportunity to study and further explore STEM subjects at the university level as well as encourage an elite group of students to pursue careers in the field of science and technology. The four-week internship programme, which will run from July 15th to August 13th, 2017, will be held on the UWI Cave Hill Campus in Barbados and promises to bring together approximately 25 gifted students from throughout the Caribbean.

This year, Guardian Group is proud to sponsor one candidate to attend the SPISE programme in Barbados. This candidate will benefit from university level classes which include calculus, physics, biochemistry, computer programming, entrepreneurship, robotics and electronics/renewable energy. The instructors will include university professors and senior management professionals from leading biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in the Region and the Diaspora who will bring unique expertise and perspectives to the students.

Guardian Group and CSF understand the importance of contributing to the development of our youth and academics, as this forms an integral part of the long-term goal of helping to diversify the economies in the Region and raising the standard of living by stimulating more technology-based entrepreneurship. This partnership is yet another way that Guardian Group intends to help transform our society and provide unique opportunities to students within our Caribbean shores.
